creates cross stitch charts to sell at Her Web Site , ebay and other
auctions sites. I agreed to have my art work turned into cross stitch
patterns so they can be sold. The first one "Miss Puggy and the Bee"

Odd Moods, Psychotic Parakeets and me.

I am in an odd mood today and I don't know why or what it is. Its been a odd day all around, maybe the full moon has something to do with it. One of our parakeets went psycho on us, he is a few seeds short of a millet. We have had this green parakeet for like 15 years, and he is the most unfriendly, mean, grumpy bird we have ever had. This bird has been in a cage with another parakeet for like 4 years and today he decided he can't stand his fellow cage buddy. So he morphed into a crazed psychotic nut case and attacked his cage mate. Like a hawk with talons barred. The other poor bird had no clue why," was it something I said?, No, you have the high perch"...nothing helped. Anyhow, I moved this insane bird to another cage, solitary confinement, so he can be by himself. Hes an old bird too, today he just went off his senile little rocker. Maybe a little time alone with himself and he will behave. Or a guest appearance as the "birdy" in a game of tennis should do it...no just kidding..humor ...like I said ..."odd mood". The moon may be effecting ebay too, as this week sales are slow as a slug race.

Blizzard of 2005

Mom reports blizzard conditions in Ohio and temps of 10 degrees, warming up from a frosty 6 degrees early this morning. This is a picture of my Dad plowing their driveway. Looks like they got a "little" snow last night huh? I guess I should be thankful the folks don't live in Boston which is really getting wacked today with snow accumulations of 30 to 40 inches!

Johnny Carson

Johnny Carson, king of late night died this am. He will be missed by all. Funny, I had just read a story about a week or two ago about how he was writing jokes and passing them on to Letterman.

Coming soon

I will soon be offering Cleverpup Prints for sale on the CleverPup web site. I am in the process of adding a print page as currently I only have Ebay and Overstock.com as the places to buy prints.
With Ebay fee increases I am hoping that the Clever Pup web site can help make up sales when I close my ebay store. This will be a gradual transition, moving to the web site and also Wagglepop.com in February. I will be sending out email and posting here once the print page is up and running.

Wheres My Frisbee??

You Are a Golden Retriever Puppy

Tolerant, fun-loving, and patient.
You are eager to please - and attached to your frisbee.

Snow then Pineapples!

Last week we were in the 20s for low temperatures and now, thanks to a Pineapple Express(warm moist air flowing from Hawaii) we are at 63 degrees as I type at noon PST.
Looks like we broke (another) record for warm temps today!
We set a new record high in Seattle on Tuesday at 60 degrees. Wednesday's record high at Sea-Tac Airport is 60 degrees, set back in 1961.
All this warm breezy weather has me wondering if I should dig out the sandals and shorts and put away the fleece...naw, don't trust the weather, we will be back to out 40s and rain in no time!

UPDATE Seattle hit 62 today, another record falls!

Overstock.com meet CleverPup Art!

Today I went ahead and got a sellers account at Overstock.com and put up a few print auctions as a trial run to see how well they do. Overstock's fees are a lot more affordable and they have been doing more TV, advertising their site. I don't want to totally depend on ebay only, there are quite a few auction sites out there now and I want to take them out for a test drive so to speak. Right now I just have a few prints up as a test, but you can view the link to check out how the Overstock auctions look compared to ebay.

To view CleverPupArt on Overstock.com click here!

My member name at Overstock is Cleverpupart the same name as Ebay.

Greed Bay

Ebay is once again raising its fees and pissing off a lot of sellers. Looks like I will be closing down my ebay store and moving to a new auction site, I will post where I will be selling art and prints as soon as I have looked at all the other auction sites. Also will be doing a selling page on the main cleverpup.com site...just have to build it first!

There are some mad sellers on ebay....already 1700 ebay stores have been closed since they announced the fee increase!

And the stock dropped today too!

Time to make Yellow Snow!

Always the explorer dog, Yoshi heads out into the winter wonderland. Lucky for him the snow is only 2 1/2 inches deep, I don't think he can handle more then 4 inches of snow, unless he gets some chains put on!

SNOW

This is funny. As soon as we gave up on seeing any snow, reading the weather page predicting rain for Sunday ...THATS when we get 2 1/2 inches of snow! Its 32 degrees out and the trees are beautiful.

Snow in Las Vegas!

For all the talk of winter storms and snow here today, I haven't seen one flake, call me skeptical, or call me lucky, but I'd like to have the odds on this bet...

who'da thunk?

Snow falls on Vegas Strip as winter storm hits southern Nevada

ASSOCIATED PRESS

LAS VEGAS (AP) - For a moment Friday, the view over the pool at the Mandalay Bay resort stopped casino workers in their tracks.

"It's snowing in Las Vegas," hotel spokesman Gordon Absher said as a winter storm swept into southern Nevada. "We looked out over the lagoon, and there's snow over the palm trees."

"It's beautiful," said Wendy Williams, an employee at Caesars Palace hotel-casino. "People are all, like, 'What's going on?'"

It's been about a year since a rare desert snowfall on the Las Vegas Strip, and Williams said her husband reported snow was falling heavier in the northwest neighborhood of Summerlin.

A dusting on cars was also reported in hillside neighborhoods across the Las Vegas valley in Henderson.

"We've got it all over," said Lisa Anderson, a Las Vegas police spokeswoman. She said that besides traffic tie-ups and fender-benders, no major problems were reported.

A Dec. 30, 2003, snowstorm was the first in five years to deposit an inch or two of snow on cars, trees, sidewalks and roads.

The National Weather Service predicted rain throughout the weekend in southern Nevada, with wind and heavy snow in the mountains.

A Hint of Snow?

Today was cold, freezing by Seattle standards. Yes Seattlites are big namby pamby babies when it comes to snow. And with the weatherman predicting anywhere from a dusting to five inches of the fluffy white stuff Friday , there was a lot of chattering among the latte class today about the weather.

Lucky for me , I originally hail from Ohio, land of frozen lakes and pick up trucks with plows. Heck, I am even considering moving to Montana, where winter lasts from October to March. It's fun in a sadistic way to watch the natives (the ones with the webbed feet) freak out about a few flakes, let alone attempt to drive in it. So Friday may turn out to be a very interesting day.....stay tuned.

UPDATE: Looks like we have a Winter Storm Warning from Friday night to Saturday, lucky for us it will happen on a weekend , all those wacky drivers will be safe at home!

It's my Jackpot party and I'll cry if I want too.....

A rare day off today entitled me to a trip north to the local Casino.
Lets just say I did really good, and then really bad. Never has my luck run so hot and cold. I more then doubled my money in less then an hour and then frittered it away..ALL away by the time I left. It was good entertainment for 3hrs though and the husband walked away a winner with $80.00. That part was fun. Next time if I find myself in that position I am cashing out and slapping the cash in my wallet! You can buy alot of artists brushes with that kinda money! ;-)

Favorite slots.....

Jackpot party
...(which turned out to be a party pooper!)
Lobster mania...(did good on that)
Cleopatra....( everyone loves this one for the bonus round..I stink at it)

A fine French Whine............

Just listed on Ebay, a cute mini painting of a pink poodle with a wine theme.

These mini paintings look great matted and framed in groups for an eye catching wall display!

Thanks for bidding !

Dog Rescues 7-Year-Old in Tsunami

I haven't posted about the horrific Tsunami , but this amazing story caught my eye.

CHINNAKALAPET, India — "Run away!" her husband screamed from a rooftop after he spotted the colossal waves. It was a simple command that smothered Sangeeta in a nightmarish dilemma: She had three sons, but just two arms. She grabbed the two youngest and ran — reasoning that 7-year-old Dinakaran, the oldest, had the best chance of outrunning the giant waves.

When the boy didn't follow, Sangeeta was crushed by grief, believing she would never see him again. The family dog made sure she did.

Dinakaran had not followed her but ran instead to the safest place he knew — the family's small, concrete-walled hut just 40 yards from shore.

While water lapped at Sangeeta's heels as she rushed up the hill, the scruffy yellow dog named Selvakumar ducked into the hut after the boy.

Nipping and nudging, he did everything in his canine power to get the boy up the hill.

Squirrel blogging 2005

This is a shot of little Nutkin grubbing his greedy face full of unshelled peanuts. Ahh nature!

Squirrel blogging at its finest. The feeder is mounted to the fence in the backyard and if I lean back in my chair I can see the little buggers going back and forth with peanuts shoved in their cheeks. I have three nutty squirrels now since the feeders been outside. At least they stay off the bird feeders in the front yard now.
