Wow. We just got back online after our DSL modem was fried by a power surge last Sunday. We had a bit of a wind storm and the power went off for an hour, when the electric came back on, it did so in two big surges which fried the modem and the cordless phone! Since Monday was the holiday, Verizon was closed and the order for a new modem,which had to come from the east coast went in on Wednesday morning....Finally the modem showed up this afternoon (Friday)..it was a real eye opener how dependant we have become on the 24/7 Internet access as we went cold turkey for a week with no Internet!

So things will get back to normal here soon as I catch up with email and ebay!
